Compare Healthy Paws and Pets Best Insurance Policies

When comparing Healthy Paws to Pets Best, pet parents should consider Pets Best's annual claim payout caps, rehabilitation coverage, bi-lateral condition coverage, and customer reviews.

Limits on Claim Payouts
Pets Best has a $5,000 annual limit on some plans, whereas other plans have no annual limits. They offer three different accidents & illnesses plans, routine care add-on options, as well as accident only coverage which has a $10,000 annual limit. Getting a straight answer on coverage and annual limits can be confusing, which can lead to choosing the wrong plan.

Bilateral Exclusions
Healthy Paws has only one bilateral exclusion (having or relating to two sides; affecting both sides): If your pet was showing any cruciate ligament problems such as lameness, or a full/partial tear before enrollment or during any applicable waiting period, on either side prior to enrollment, the other side is also excluded from coverage. Unfortunately, Pets Best's bilateral condition clause states that if there was a pre-existing bilateral condition, the other side won't be covered after, but this extends to any condition that might affect one side of the body including cataracts, patella luxation, and more.

Multiple Plans Mean Less Affordable Coverage
When you have multiple pet insurance plans like Pets Best, it makes it that much more difficult to deliver exceptional customer service. Customers simply may not understand what's covered and what's not, or they have to purchase more expensive plans for services included in the Healthy Paws one plan. For example, only the third tier (most expensive) plan by Pets Best covers rehabilitative, acupuncture, and chiropractic care, whereas Healthy Paws' one plan has it covered.

For example, orthopedic procedures including ACL surgery or a hip replacement often require rehabilitation to help pets recover and heal completely, and this can easily cost thousands of dollars in addition to the initial surgery. Anticipating injuries and their recovery is near impossible, so pet parents may not know what kind of coverage they will need when shopping around. That's why Healthy Paws makes it easy for our customers with our one easy-to-understand plan that covers new accidents and illnesses and their subsequent rehabilitation.

Healthy Paws has created an easy-to-understand plan that covers new accidents and illnesses. Our customers agree and have given Healthy Paws the highest rating at Consumers Advocate, Canine Journal, and many more review sites.
